Bimal, founded in 1984 in Perugia, and Leonardo, active in Brescia since 1994, are two companies operating at an international level in the industrial testing sector and the first companies integrated in the Test Industry project starting from 2017.
Together with a group of financial and industrial partners, in 2019 IGI Private Equity acquired control of Test Industry with a clear vision: to create a multinational company specialising in test benches for industrial testing, characterised by a high technological level and maximum customisation of the products. An important objective to be achieved through the organic growth of the factories and brands, and targeted acquisitions, aimed at strengthening the geographical presence of the company in various markets.
A fundamental step in this direction was achieved with the double acquisition – in February 2022 – of the companies TestingService and GiM, both operating in Aachen, Germany.

1984
Bimal S.r.l. was set up in Perugia, originally operating in the marketing of components and in the design of hydraulic systems. Within a few years, the company was specialising in the design of test benches.
1994
Leonardo S.r.l. was founded in Maclodio, in the province of Brescia, an engineering company focused on the development of high-tech testing solutions.
2000
After having acquired important shares of the Italian market, Bimal expanded and began to make itself known internationally.
2004
Leonardo began its internationalisation process, expanding its market from Italy to abroad.
2005
TestingService was set up in Aachen, Germany.
2015
The Equilybra S.p.A. fund invested in Bimal S.r.l.
2017
Equilybra S.p.A. and Route Capital Partners S.r.l. invested in Leonardo S.r.l.
In the same year the Test Industry group was founded and Bimal and Leonardo joined it.
2018
In order to strengthen the Group’s presence in North America, the commercial branch Test Industry America Inc. was established, with headquarters in Lake Geneva, Winsconsin.
2019
Together with financial and industrial partners, the IGI Investimenti Sei fund managed by Private Equity acquired the management of Test Industry.
2020
Bimal and Leonardo merged into Test Industry S.r.l., starting an important transformation and integration process. The main objective is to achieve targeted industrial and commercial synergies.
2022
Test Industry acquired the two German companies TestingService and GiM, giving new impetus to the international growth of the group.
