Description
Example of test bench for the gearbox of main rotors of helicopters. The bench tests both the main gearbox (MGB), the intermediate gearbox (IGB) and the rear gearbox (TGB), testing the entire transmission chain.
Depending on requirements, this type of test bench is intended to perform R&D, ATP, qualification or even MRO tests.
The system shown here can perform functional tests at maximum load and speed and is equipped with a total power of 4.4 MW and an electrical energy regeneration system.
